GRAMA PANCHAYAT

President

The President is the chief administrator of the Panchayat. The President leads the development activities and administrative procedures of the Panchayat.

Vice President

Provides cooperation in administrative activities. In the absence of the President, the Vice President performs the administrative duties

Standing Committees

Standing Committees are the committees that control and oversee the development, finance, health, and education activities of the Panchayat.

Development Standing Committee

Implements the development projects of the Panchayat. It aims at public welfare and infrastructure development.

Finance Standing Committee

The Finance Standing Committee is the committee that controls the income and expenditure of the Panchayat.

Health & Education Standing Committee

It is the committee that controls and oversees health and education activities.

Welfare Standing Committee

It is the committee that implements public welfare schemes. It aims at social security and welfare activities.

 

Other Sub Committees

These are committees formed for activities in specific areas. They provide assistance to various projects.

Panchayat Secretary

Assistant Secretary

Provides assistance to the administrative and office activities of the Panchayat. Acts as the Member Secretary of Kudumbashree and as the coordinator of various welfare schemes. Also holds the implementation responsibilities for Scheduled Caste (SC) development projects.

Head Clerk

The Head Clerk is the officer who supervises the day-to-day office activities of the Panchayat. He/She coordinates the file procedures and the operations of various office sections. He/She also provides supervision and control over the activities of the staff.

Accountant

The Accountant is the officer who controls the financial transactions and accounts of the Panchayat. Prepares and maintains income and expenditure statements. Organizes the budget, tax, and financial records.

Clerk

The Clerk is the employee who handles the files and records in the Panchayat. He/She manages tax collection, applications, and office registers. He/She also performs ward-based duties and service activities.

Senior Clerk

The Senior Clerk is the employee who supervises office records and administrative procedures. He/She coordinates the activities of various office sections. He/She also controls the verification and processing of important files.

Office Attendant

Provides assistance to the day-to-day office activities of the Panchayat. Performs activities such as transferring records and organizing the office. Supports the general assistance activities of the office

Brief Description of Key Components

1. Grama Sabha

Grama Sabha is the public meeting of the people in the Panchayat. It discusses and recommends decisions on development projects, public needs, and welfare activities.

2. Grama Panchayat Committee

The Grama Panchayat Committee is the governing body consisting of elected representatives. It controls the development and administrative affairs of the Panchayat.

3. President & Vice President

The President and Vice President are the chief administrative leaders of the Panchayat. They provide leadership for administrative procedures.

4. Standing Committees

These are special committees operating in sectors such as development, finance, health-education, and welfare.

5. Panchayat Secretary

The Secretary is the chief administrative officer of the Panchayat. He/She coordinates office operations, file procedures, and administrative execution.
